Lynden David Hall

I was listening to Streetwise Radio when I heard Lynden David Hall’s song ’Are We Still Cool’. I said this brother can sing. While listening to his music and doing some research I’m sad to say he passed away. Lynden David Hall was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in October 2003. He died on 14 February 2006 at the age of 31, from complications of stem cell transplant he received in January 2005.

This Wandsworth, South London born singer, songwriter, arranger, and record producer had a lot of talent. Lynden could sing! He won two awards for his singing. The 'best newcomer' 1998 MOBO (Music of Black Origin) and he was voted "Best Male Artist" by the readers of Britain's Blues & Soul magazine in 1999. Lynden is an amazing soul singer left this world far too soon. I had to write about him so others that never heard of Lynden David Hall could experience his remarkable gift. I added him to my playlist. Some of my favorite songs are ‘Medicine 4 My Pain’, ‘Do I Qualify’, ‘Forgive Me’, ‘Sexy Cinderella’, ‘All you need is Love’, ‘Are We Still Cool’ and ‘Sleeping With Victor’. I know he was taken far too soon, but his music will live on. Streetwise Radio is playing Lynden David Hall. You can also listen to Streetwise Radio on Pandora, iTunes, MyGen365, Athena365 and Live365.

Lee Hi

One thing I can say about 16 year old South Korean Lee Hi, a whole lot of soul. Lee Hi debut single “1.2.3.4” has that old R&B sound. Even when she is singing in her native tongue it is soulful, she sounds much older than what she is. Lee Hi was the 2011 runner up "Survival K-Pop Star". Lee Hi was a member of the girl group SuPearl. The only thing I don’t like is the auto tune on her song. Her voice is strong enough without it. Lee Hi is a talent to look out for in the years to come. Tune into Streetwise Radio and checkout Lee Hi’s song “1.2.3.4”. Also listen to Streetwise Radio on Pandora, Live365, iTunes, MyGen365 and Athena365.

Karina Pasian

Who is Karina Pasian? I never heard of her, until I heard her on Streetwise Radio. Again that is why Internet Radio is so important. The potential of talent out there for unknown and undiscovered artists is truly remarkable. This New York born Dominican singer and pianist is an astonishing talent. Ever since her debut album “First Love” in 2008 to her newest single “Fall in Love Again” in 2012 Karina has been singing her heart out. Her first language is Russian, but she can also sing in English, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Turkish, and French. Karina’s grooming to become the singer and pianist she is today, started when she was very young. She began playing the piano at the age of three. Her babysitter was her first teacher and she began playing classical piano in kindergarten. By the time she was eight she was working with a vocal coach. Yes, Karina Pasian is the whole package. She has the voice the talent and the beauty. Karina Pasian is the one of the new up and coming R&B singers of her generation. Some of my favorite songs that Karina Pasian sings are “Fall in Love Again”, “16 @ War”, “Slow Motion” and “Perfectly Different”. Streetwise Radio is playing Karina’s Pasian and other new and unknown artist. You can listen to Streetwise Radio on MyGen365, Live365, Athena365, iTunes and Pandora.

Bilal

My description of Bilal is artistic and sensual. Bilal is always getting compared to D'Angelo. To me Bilal’s vocals and skill level far surpasses D'Angelo. In the late 1990s and early 2000s I was introduced to Bilal. He was in the neo soul and alternative hip hop group Soulquarians. The members consist of some awesome talent, Talib Kweli, Common (kneeling), Mos Def, James Poyser, Erykah Badu, Questlove, D'Angelo, Q-Tip, Bilal and the late great J Dilla. Wow! This was an amazing group of talented musicians. When Bilal came out with his debut album “1st Born Second” in 2001 I think it was the right thing for his music career. I loved the songs “Soul Sista”, “Fast Lane”, "Sometimes", “Love It” and “Love Poem. The song “Soul Sista” was on the movie soundtrack “Love And Basketball”. This Philadelphia, Pennsylvania born talent has been doing his thing since the late 1990s. Bilal is still going strong. He has a new album that was leaked on YouTube it is called” Love for Sale”. I think this album is amazing my favorite songs off this album are “Hollywood”, “All For Love”, “Lord don't let it”, “Get Out of My Hair”, “You're All I Need (Feels Like Heaven)” and “White Turns To Gray”. Bilal is an underrated artist with talent that needs to be played more. You can listen to new and unexposed artists like Bilal on Streetwise Radio. You can all so listen to Streetwise Radio on Pandora, Athena365, MyGen365, Live365 and iTunes.
